Care that begins with listening

Your symptoms are real. Your care should be personal.

Hormonal changes can affect your comfort, sleep, sexual health, and daily well-being. At Lizabelly IV Hydration & Medspa, we begin by understanding your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals. Together, we determine whether hormone therapy or another approach may be appropriate for you.

This is an ongoing partnership — not a one-time visit. You should feel prepared to attend follow-up visits, complete requested monitoring, share new symptoms, and take part in sustainable lifestyle changes. Treatment recommendations are individualized, and results vary from person to person.

Concerns we can evaluate

Symptoms that may warrant a closer look

These symptoms can have causes beyond menopause, which is why a thoughtful evaluation — rather than a single test — is where we begin.

Hot flashes & night sweats
Vaginal dryness & discomfort with intimacy
Sleep changes
Changes in sexual desire
Mood changes & difficulty concentrating
Fatigue
Your care journey

A thoughtful, four-step path

Step 1 — A thorough consultation

We review your symptoms, menstrual and surgical history, personal and family medical history, medications, supplements, previous treatments, and relevant health screenings. We also discuss sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and your readiness to participate in ongoing care. This helps us assess safety and develop realistic goals together.

The consultation is an evaluation — not a guarantee that hormones will be prescribed.

Step 2 — Appropriate laboratory evaluation

If you decide to proceed and treatment appears appropriate, we arrange laboratory testing tailored to your history and proposed treatment.

Perimenopause and menopause are often assessed through symptoms, age, and menstrual history. A single hormone blood test does not reliably confirm or exclude these transitions. Testing may help evaluate other causes of your symptoms and guide safe care when clinically indicated.

Step 3 — An individualized treatment plan

If hormone therapy is appropriate for you, your plan is tailored to your symptoms, history, and preferences. Categories we may discuss include:

  • Systemic estrogen — available in forms such as patches, gels, sprays, or tablets, depending on the prescription. It may help appropriate patients with bothersome hot flashes and night sweats.
  • Progesterone or a progestogen — generally needed alongside systemic estrogen when a patient has a uterus, to protect the uterine lining. The regimen depends on your circumstances.
  • Local vaginal treatment — low-dose vaginal estrogen cream, tablets, inserts, or rings may address vaginal dryness and discomfort. Local treatment serves a different purpose from systemic hormone therapy.
  • Nonhormonal options and lifestyle support — appropriate alternatives when hormones are unsuitable or not preferred, along with nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress support.

Step 4 — Ongoing follow-up & safety monitoring

Our program requires participation in follow-up visits approximately every three to four months, with earlier visits when needed after starting or changing treatment. Patients must complete laboratory testing ordered for their specific treatment and safety needs.

At follow-up visits, we assess symptom relief, side effects, changes in health history, and whether treatment needs adjustment. The goal is meaningful symptom improvement with an appropriate, safe plan — not simply reaching a predetermined hormone number.

Potential benefits

When appropriate, hormone therapy may ease bothersome symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, and vaginal discomfort — and support your comfort, intimacy, and daily well-being. Suitability depends on your individual history and goals.

Important considerations

Hormone therapy has potential benefits and risks, and it is not appropriate for everyone. Relevant considerations include unexplained vaginal bleeding, a history of blood clots or stroke, certain cancers, and liver disease. These require careful clinical review before any treatment decision.
